Learn about how we work >

The safeguarding in sport culture creates an environment where any safeguarding cases, concerns and issues raised are dealt with in a way that meets the best safeguarding in sport practices and standards.

The GuardSport Project:

The GuardSport project is a social enterprise designed to close the gap between Safeguarding policy and Safeguarding culture.

GuardSport aims to have as many clubs and sporting organisations signed up and committed to distributing regular sports safeguarding practice, information and updates.

Safeguarding and Child protection is everyone’s responsibility! Regular community updates and reminders are a cornerstone of creating a safeguarding culture.

Traditional child protection approaches have a focus on individual(s) harmer or victim of abuse, but contextual safeguarding recognises the importance of looking at the social and environmental factors that contribute to harm. In sports we can do so much better.

A policy is only ever as good as its implementation. It’s the Safeguarding culture and the acceptance that it is everyones responsibility that makes the difference.

GuardSport will provide you with regular updates that you can distribute through your sporting organisation on social media or via email. updates will come every 2 weeks.
